Muay Thai is a combat sport and martial art that originated from Thailand and involves stand-up striking and clinching.
Muay Thai is commonly known as "the art of eight limbs" as it uses the fists, elbows, knees and shins to inflict maximum damage on an opponent. Muay Thai is one of the most effective martial arts both in the ring and on the street.
Punches like jabs, crosses and hooks are the most common Muay Thai techniques and will be taught during our Muay Thai lessons. You will also be taught how to defend and counter against your opponent's punches.
Elbows can be very effective in Muay Thai, especially when your opponent is in close range. You will be taught how to set up your elbowing techniques during our Muay Thai lessons for devastating combos.
Knees are frequently used during Muay Thai especially during clinching. A well-placed knee strike can take down your opponent, or set up other Muay Thai clinching techniques like sweeps.
Kicks, like the push kick and the roundhouse kick, are versatile and effective ways to strike your opponent in Muay Thai as well as to maintain your distance. You will be taught how to apply kicks to your combos during our Muay Thai lessons.
